Overcoming your Fears and Phobias with New Beginnings

"Just wanted to thank you. Those two flights were just totally different. From long before even the journey to the airport, all the way through including delayed flights and even turbulence. I just felt totally in control and calm, much more chilled out. I've even found myself googling holidays further afield. So thank you so much" (Lily Fear of Flying)

What is a phobia?

A phobia is an intense fear of something that in reality poses little or no actual danger. If you have a phobia, you probably realise that your fear is unreasonable and irrational, yet you still can’t control your feelings.

Just thinking about the feared object or situation makes you anxious. When you are exposed to it, you may feel overwhelmed with terror.

One of the most common reasons for people to seek hypnotherapy is for help overcoming a phobia.

How can phobias be overcome?

Phobias can be overcome using a combination of therapies including:

  • Clinical Hypnotherapy

  • NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

  • VK Dissociation Technique ( aka Rewind Technique and Fast Phobia )

  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

  • BLAST Technique

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

Phobias are often rooted in childhood misunderstanding. A child doesn't necessarily have the logical tools and information to understand the meaning of a parent standing on a stool screaming at a spider.

They will almost certainly make a deep unconscious decision that the spider is dangerous.

Phobias can also develop at any age and may be the result of more direct experiences of specific traumatic events eg a bad flight, accident, humiliating event in public, being trapped somewhere.

Common phobias Mark helps with :

(Katie - Fear of Needles and Hospitals)
